For a short trip, or even a longer one, the country with the lowest domestic flight prices could be more affordable than one in which the average price is. You can travel to a country with a relatively small population, such as Hungary or Cambodia, by air. There is little to no need for passenger flights. Although there are many articles about the countries that offer the lowest domestic flight prices, they all seem to have been written before the pandemic. The ones that rank highest in Google are some of the most recent, which is a long time ago in the airline industry. I started with some of these, and then pulled up real data with prices to find cheap countries that are open to foreign tourists.

This price may not include luggage and an assigned seat, especially if the airline is notoriously expensive like Ryanair, VivaAerobus, Spirit Air. The legacy airlines are now in the race to the bottom, offering "basic economy" fares which make for an even more unpleasant experience.

If you are a light packer, the rates I have listed are only a starting point. Some, such as Allegiant, will charge a booking fee online or for paying cash in person. This is a hidden fare increase in the 21 st Century.

You can save time and money by flying domestically to India, even though the train ride can be fun and interesting, especially in first-class.

Many budget airlines have emerged in this country over the years, increasing competition. Some routes have lower prices than 25 years ago, in dollars or euros. Sometimes you can find great deals in cities that would take you 10 to 12 hours by road. India's middle classes have increased, and more people are flying to India, which is great news for tourists who want to travel in India faster.
